Best Rated Watch Brands Swiss Made

List of the best watch brands according to Chrono24

Chrono24 has been the global online marketplace for luxury watches since 2003. Whether commercial watch trade or private sales, they are the self-claimed first address for luxury watches all over the world.

In January 2023, Chrono24 released an article about the "top 10 watch brands of all time".

Here is the world's leading watch brands list according to them: Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Breitling, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Cartier, IWC, Tag Heuer.

Is this really what the public thinks in practice? Let's see...

Best rated watch brands according to Trustpilot

What and who is Trustpilot? Is the site serious about customer reviews, and can you rely on their ratings?

According to Invetopedia.com:

"Trustpilot is a Denmark-based company launched by entrepreneur Peter Holten Mühlmann. Its goal is to provide a rating system for retailers and service providers that can help would-be customers make better shopping decisions and enable businesses to improve their customer experience. It has become one of the largest online review services in the world, with more than 120 million reviews of more than 529,000 businesses.

Based in Copenhagen, Trustpilot has more than 660 employees and operates offices in London; Edinburgh, Scotland; New York; Denver; Melbourne, Australia; Berlin; and Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania."

There are two different types of accounts on Trustpilots. The retailer's profiles have been claimed where the company pays monthly fees and the unclaimed ones. Therefore, the bread and pudding of Trustpilot are to have as many claimed profiles as possible. But anyone can create a new brand profile, and then the public can create a review and rate their experience from 1 to 5 stars depending on their experience with the products or services.

The company runs on a freemium model, which is controversial and abusive. Initially, no one has ever asked for reviews, and they can be rated independently.

Anyhow, let's get back to the ratings of the best watch brands from Switzerland.

One of the recent comment:

"Rolex are trying to cheat me out of a warranty claim - they lied - changed their story and now they are using the big company tactics. Really sad to see such a brand behave so disrespectfully and dishonestly."

2/ BREITLING

One of the recent comment:

"Breitling is the absolute WORST service in the country. You pay $12k for the watch. You have to send it back to even replace a battery which is a yearly replacement then they try to sell you on a service which costs $1300 and they quote a minimum or 3-4 months to return it to you after waiting 3 weeks for the quote already."

3/ HUBLOT

Hublot "claimed" account has a POOR RATING of 2.2 out of 5 stars, with a total of 36 reviews.

One of the recent comment:

"Very poor service. I’m a watch collector and have many luxury watches so when I seen the Hublot shop in Edinburgh I thought I would go in and see if I liked anything. From start to finish the service was extremely poor no help an effort to even see a watch did the salesman think I could not afford the watch ?"

4/ TAG HEUER

Tag Heuer "unclaimed" account has a BAD RATING of 1.6 out of 5 stars, with a total of 323 reviews.

One of the recent comment:

"€760 for a watch repair that doesn't work.

I have just spent €760 on a full service and repair of my watch which, after 2.5 months of waiting, was delivered yesterday. When trying to set the correct time, it became obvious that only the hour hand was moving and that the minutes hand was stuck."

5/ IWC

IWC "unclaimed" account has a POOR RATING of 2.5 out of 5 stars, with a total of 14 reviews.

One of the recent comment:

"Don’t allow anyone else to service their watches, yet seemingly incapable of serving their watches themselves despite charging a very fat fee. Over the last 2 years my watch has spent more time with them than with me and still not fixed.

The current management is a disgrace and not worthy of the legacy of fine watches they’ve built in the past."

6/ CARTIER

Cartier "claimed" account has a BAD RATING of 1.7 out of 5 stars, with a total of 289 reviews.

One of the recent comment:

"Disgraceful service at Cartier Bond Street today. Wait of over 30 mins just to pick up my watch. Nothing to pay. Lots of people standing around welcoming people and guarding things. No-one actually serving customers. Not a luxury brand service."

7/ RAYMOND WEIL

Raymond Weil "unclaimed" account has a POOR RATING of 2.1 out of 5 stars, with a total of 64 reviews.

One of the recent comment:

"Just saw these reviews and decided to contribute - Bought a Freelancer a few years ago now, but only got about 1 or 2yrs wear out of it before the dial (or maybe the whole mechanism) came lose and was freely rotating inside the watch case. It was sent to RW at the time and they said it was my fault due to some tiny dings on the case, which had caused the anchoring pins to snap?"

Website visitors often leave comments on Trustpilot for various reasons, but not all comments are genuine. It's important to be aware that some reviews may be falsified or misleading.

Some customers believe their investment should unrealistically last for a lifetime without possibly going wrong at any point in time.

Others are actually just commenting about their visit to a boutique and have never bought the product.

On Trustpilot, there is a wide range of reviews and experiences, and it's important to approach them with some caution. It's evident that only two out of seven watch brands have taken steps to "claim" their less desired review profiles, and they sometimes engage by responding to the reviews they receive. This suggests that a majority of the brands may not be engaging with their customers' feedback on the platform.

The good news for Wryst Timepieces is a much higher overall rating than most "best watch brands of all time," with EXCELLENT feedbacks from genuine customers.

I asked Bing AI "What is the best rated swiss watch brand on trustpilot?" and this page came as the first result. It's incredible to know that your watches have such highly-rated reviews for small limited edition series. Well done!

It's a great achievement to rate this high for a small independant Swiss brand. But I must admit I have several watches from the names mentioned and these are excellent quality. Objectively I don't think people take much notice of this specific site for evaluating their purchase. Especially considering the high volumes produced.

Das zeigt uns, dass die beliebtesten Marken definitiv nicht immer die besten sind und wir könnten hier etwas lernen. Sehr nützlicher Beitrag, danke
