Norton V4 SV

Wryst Racer SX1

10.  Norton V4 SV

Dry weight: 193 kg

Power: 185 bhp

Ratio of the power/weight: 0.958 bhp/kg

Price: £ 44'000

A key difference in the new Norton V4 SV is its increased weight. While the previous V4RR was listed at 179kg dry, the V4SV now weighs 193 kilograms before fluids. This 14kg increase could likely be attributed to the planned road-legal exhaust system, which wasn't featured in the initial images.

Beyond the weight, the V4 SV's specifications suggest the engine remains largely the same. It maintains the V4RR's 13.6:1 compression ratio, dual injectors per cylinder, slipper clutch, and titanium inlet valves. Interestingly, although the new bike still produces 185 hp at 12,500 rpm, the V4RR claimed a higher 200 hp at the same revs. Peak torque is now reached 1,000 rpm earlier at 9,000 rpm.

Yamaha YZF R1

Wryst Motors MS620

9. Yamaha YZF-R1

Dry weight: 199 kg

Power: 200 bhp

Ratio of the power/weight: 1,000 bhp/kg

Price: £ 14'900

Yamaha's high-performance YZF-R1 supersport is set to be updated with several improvements aimed at boosting its competitiveness within its class. The current engine delivers a significant 200 horsepower at 13,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 113.3 Nm at 11,500 rpm, managed by a six-speed gearbox and breathing through a titanium exhaust.

Notably, the updated model will be lighter, weighing in at 199 kg, a 5 kg reduction. Given that the current R1 generation debuted approximately eight years ago, with a subsequent version developed to meet Euro 5 emissions standards, the existing model is indeed aging. It's logical to anticipate the arrival of a new, track-focused R1 alongside a fully street-legal production version.
